About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Security Specialist to join our team at Family and Children's Services Niagara. As a key member of our Technical Services Department, you will be responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of our IT systems and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and Maintain Security Infrastructure: Design, implement, and maintain a robust security infrastructure to protect our systems and data from cyber threats.
  • Monitor and Analyze Security Threats: Continuously monitor our systems and networks for security threats, analyze potential vulnerabilities, and implement measures to mitigate risks.
  • Develop and Implement Cybersecurity Policies: Collaborate with our management team to develop and implement comprehensive cybersecurity policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Provide Technical Support and Training: Provide technical support and training to our staff on cybersecurity best practices, security awareness, and incident response procedures.
  • Stay Up-to-Date with Emerging Threats: Stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats, technologies, and best practices to ensure our systems and data remain secure.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in IT security and networking.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of security protocols, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, antivirus software, and security information and event management systems.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff at all levels.
