Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team at STAR EXCAVATING LTD. As an Excavation Specialist, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment, conducting pre-operational checks, and performing minor repairs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate heavy equipment such as backhoe excavators and loaders
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure safe operation
  • Perform minor repairs to equipment as needed
  • Clean and lubricate equipment and refill tanks
  • Prepare accident reports and secure special attachments to equipment
  • Operate GPS and other navigation equipment, as well as two-way radios and other communication equipment
Work Environment

As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will work outdoors in various locations, including industrial, commercial, and residential construction sites. The work environment is physically demanding and fast-paced, with overtime required at times.

Requirements
  • 1-2 years of experience operating heavy equipment
  • No degree, certificate, or diploma required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and materials
