Position Overview

The Aviation Safety Compliance Auditor will play a crucial role in ensuring adherence to safety regulations and operational standards within the aviation sector. This position is integral to maintaining the integrity of flight operations and ensuring that all contracted carriers meet the required compliance benchmarks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Audit Execution: Conduct comprehensive internal audits to evaluate compliance with established regulations and standards. Prepare detailed audit reports that encapsulate findings and recommendations for improvement.
  • Emergency Response Plan Management: Regularly review and update the Emergency Response Plan (ERP) to ensure it reflects current practices and protocols. Collaborate with various departments to develop effective trial strategies and scenarios.
  • Corrective Action Planning: Develop and recommend corrective action plans (CAPs) to address identified deficiencies. Monitor the implementation of these plans and validate their effectiveness through follow-up assessments.
  • Information Gathering: Determine the most effective methods for documenting findings and presenting final reports based on stakeholder requirements.
  • CADORS Reporting: Oversee the monitoring of the Civil Aviation Daily Occurrence Reporting System (CADORS) to ensure timely reporting and investigation of occurrences.
  • Flight Safety Initiatives: Support the development and implementation of initiatives aimed at enhancing flight safety across operations.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other related tasks as assigned to support the overall safety and compliance objectives of the organization.

Qualifications

  • A degree in an aviation-related field.
  • Certification as a Lead Auditor with a minimum of three years of auditing experience.
  • At least five years of operational experience in aviation flight operations or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian Aviation Regulations and the ability to interpret regulatory documents.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on report preparation and presentations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
  • Self-driven with strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Experience in auditing both maintenance and flight operations is an asset.
  • Additional certifications such as Certified Auditor, Commercial Pilot, or Licensed Flight Dispatcher are advantageous.
  • Bilingualism in English and French is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel for audit purposes as required.
