Community Engagement Specialist

The Community Coordinator plays a vital role in representing Thompson Rivers University within various communities. This position is tasked with delivering programs and services tailored to the needs of the community, fostering collaborations, and spearheading educational projects.
Primary Duties:- Perform needs assessments and cultivate relationships with community stakeholders.
- Establish partnerships with organizations and agencies to facilitate training initiatives.
- Draft course proposals and oversee budget management.
- Coordinate course logistics, manage financial aspects, and supervise instructional personnel.
- Support marketing strategies and promote educational offerings.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional interpersonal abilities, experience in project management, and a solid understanding of marketing and financial principles. Adaptability, independence, and a willingness to travel across various locations are essential attributes.
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of two years of post-secondary education, ideally in Business or Education.
- Provincial Instructor's Diploma is an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Outstanding communication skills coupled with cultural awareness.
- Possession of a valid BC Class 5 Driver's License.
Reporting Structure: This position reports to the Associate Director of Community Education & Workforce Training.
