Operations Trainee Job Description

Craftsman Collision is a leading auto body repair chain in Canada, committed to excellence and employee satisfaction. We're seeking an Operations Trainee to support our Metro Vancouver operations manager and contribute to the success of our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support daily operations to ensure stakeholder objectives are met.
  • Support management of shop operations in alignment with The Craftsman Way (TCW).
  • Provide vacation coverage as required and utilize company dashboards to prioritize tasks.
  • Actively participate in daily production meetings and maintain professional relationships with stakeholders.
  • Write estimates and schedules repairs as needed, and utilize the Craftsman Management System to enter parts and sublet invoices.
  • Support daily production, workflow, and quality control of the shop, and work with assigned Operations team members and Shop Manager to follow operational goals.
  • Proactively reduce effort to increase touch time and reduce vehicle days in shop, and ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
  • Bring forward suggestions for training needs and continuously improve processes.
  • Support company standards in SPARKLE, safety, and security, and represent and promote the Craftsman Collision brand in a positive manner.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field preferred, or a combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Working towards I-CAR Platinum certification an asset.
  • Strong verbal, written, and listening skills, combined with the ability to interact and gain the support of senior leadership and other decision-makers.
  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated time management, problem-solving, critical thinking, and sound judgment skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a customer service-oriented attitude.
  • Proficient in Outlook and video conferencing platforms, with the ability and willingness to learn new applications.
  • Demonstrated desire and aptitude for learning and development.
  • Interest in vehicles and the automotive industry.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in ADAS systems, vehicle calibrations, and emerging vehicle technologies an asset.
  • Must have a valid class 5 driver's license with a clean driver's abstract over the last 3 years.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada with no restrictions.
