The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dryland Program Leader to join our team at the City of Red Deer. As a key member of our childcare services team, you will be responsible for leading preschool programs, services, and special events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead preschool programs and services, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for children.
  • Supervise and support childcare staff, providing guidance and coaching as needed.
  • Develop and implement programs that meet the needs of children and families, aligning with the City's Cornerstone Values.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless delivery of services.
  • Manage budgets and resources, ensuring efficient use of City funds.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated high level of verbal, written, and listening skills.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Possession of a valid Alberta Driver's License.
  • Commitment to the City's Cornerstone Values.
  • Ability to do minor lifting.
  • Ability to work in noisy conditions.
  • Ability to work in stressful conditions and deal with conflict situations.
  • Level I Childcare Certificate.
  • Childcare First Aid Certificate.

Affiliation:

Canadian Union of Public Employees, Local 417.

Remuneration:

$23.87 to $25.27 per hour.

Hours of Work:

40 hours biweekly, as scheduled. Availability required for weekdays, evenings, weekends, early mornings, and potential split shifts as dryland programming and business needs require.

Additional Information:

The term of this position is anticipated to be 14 months.
