Position Overview
The Senior Payroll Specialist plays a crucial role in managing payroll functions for our expanding client portfolio. This position encompasses all payroll-related processing activities.
Key Responsibilities Oversee the processing of payroll voids and tax adjustments. Serve as the primary point of escalation, addressing and resolving client issues effectively. Collaborate with the payroll supervisor on special initiatives to meet client requirements. Utilize payroll software to execute payroll runs, input payroll data, and generate payroll checks. Enhance your payroll expertise by familiarizing yourself with company policies, standard operating procedures, and best practices. Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies while processing payroll for our diverse client base. Guarantee accurate and timely payroll processing and employee remuneration. Undertake additional duties and projects as assigned. Required Skills and Qualifications Strong organizational skills to manage work activities and meet deadlines. Ability to handle multiple tasks with a keen attention to detail. Excellent communication skills and the capability to work collaboratively in a team setting. Proficient in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook. Ability to apply logic and reasoning to make prompt decisions under pressure. Proven judgment skills in addressing various situations and challenges. Collaborate with other departments to identify and implement solutions. Education & Experience High School Diploma or equivalent. A minimum of 5 years of payroll experience. Experience in managing multi-Canadian provincial payrolls and processing Canadian payroll. Bilingual proficiency in French and English is required. PCP or PLP certification is mandatory for this role.
