Qualifications and Requirements

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Early Childhood Educator to join our team at the York Region District School Board. The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor of Education Degree and a valid NWT Teaching Certificate, with a specialization in French Immersion being an asset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Kindergarten students in a bilingual (French/English) setting
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles
  • Utilize technology as a learning tool to enhance student engagement and outcomes
  • Integrate spirituality and faith into teaching practices
  • Employ differentiated instruction and authentic assessment methods
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver programs and assessments
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching in a northern community and understanding of Indigenous cultures
  • Knowledge of second language methodology and technology integration

  • Strong organizational skills, initiative, and team focus
