The University Health Network is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our Complex Malignant Hematology Team. As a key member of our interprofessional team, you will provide expert care to patients with complex malignant hematology conditions, including leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive care to patients with complex malignant hematology conditions, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the interprofessional team.
- Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to identify patient needs and develop strategies to address them.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
- Participate in research and education activities to stay current with best practices and advance the field of complex malignant hematology.
- Current College of Nurses of Ontario Registration in the Extended Class (EC) as a NP required.
- Completion of a Master's degree required.
- Demonstrated expertise as a Nurse Practitioner preferred.
- Up to five (5) years of relevant experience; including three (3) years of experience working in the malignant hematology preferred.
- Certification in Oncology Nursing preferred or commitment to obtain certification when eligible.
- Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support required.
- Commitment to collaborative practice.
- Experience in nursing research methodology an asset.
- Eligible for cross-appointment to an academic institution.
- Evidence of professional malpractice insurance.
- Membership in the Canadian Association of Nurses in Oncology (CANO) and other organizations relevant to the role preferred.
- Knowledge of data management programs an asset.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective interpersonal and customer services skills.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Excellent decision making, problem recognition and problem solving skills.
- Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Program planning and evaluation methodology skills an asset.
- Ability to work effectively independently and under stressful conditions.
- Ability to work in a self-directed manner.
