Clinical Educator

The Safe Clinical Practice program is a Calgary Zone initiative that focuses on developing, implementing, and evaluating Required Organizational Practices (ROP) activities to support zone health professionals in meeting Accreditation Standards. This program aims to integrate ROP requirements into established clinical workflows, ensuring the adoption and sustainability of these practices. Additionally, the program supports Calgary Zone Patient Safety Surveillance work throughout the implementation of Connect Care.
Description:As a Clinical Educator, you will provide specialized expertise in developing and providing resources, consultation, and collaborative support related to the implementation and sustainability of identified ROP's within the Calgary Zone. You will work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including nursing, pharmacy, physicians, leadership, and other Instructor colleagues. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Utilizing quality improvement methodologies to assist with clinical workflow and process development
- Stakeholder engagement and change management
- Presenting and facilitating large meetings effectively
- Managing multiple projects and pieces of work simultaneously
As an expert practitioner and key educator, you will take a leadership role in the planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of education for nursing staff, including orientation, compulsory, and continuing education, and clinical development. You will collaborate with management and internal partners to promote standards of clinical, educational, and evidence-informed practice. Your role will play a key part in providing safe, quality patient and family-centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of Alberta Health Services.
Required Qualifications:Completion of an accredited nursing education program
Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP)

Additional Required Qualifications:This role will primarily support Calgary Zone quality improvement and patient safety issues within the Calgary Zone, specifically with surgical teams and women's health, home care, and other areas as required. Experience working in these areas will be a requirement of this role. A Master's Degree in nursing is preferred.
