About the Role
Bethany Care Society is seeking a skilled clinical educator to support dementia education at our Calgary site. The position will be located at our Calgary site, but may be required to provide support to other sites when needed. The position reports to the RAI Program and Education Manager as part of a large clinical education team.
Position Summary:
Your primary responsibility is to provide orientation for new employees and develop and deliver clinical education to Bethany employees in close collaboration with site leaders. You will also work with other Bethany Clinical Educators, policy and program leads across Bethany sites in identifying and prioritizing process improvement opportunities and supporting organizational initiatives, such as research and program development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver clinical education programs for Bethany employees
- Provide orientation for new employees
- Collaborate with site leaders to identify and prioritize process improvement opportunities
- Support organizational initiatives, such as research and program development
- Work with other Bethany Clinical Educators and policy and program leads to identify and prioritize process improvement opportunities
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA)
- Post graduate training in Adult Education or related, plus three to five years of direct experience as an educator in a clinical environment (preferably with geriatric population with a focus in dementia care)
- A combination of education and experience will also be considered. Master's degree is preferred. We will also consider applicants who are working towards the completion of his/her Master's degree
- Experience with eMAR and electronic documentation software (e.g. Point Click Care) are definite assets
- CPR trainer certificate, Supportive Pathways training preferred
- Proficient with current productivity software, such as Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, as well as experience with multimedia applications
