The Power and Transportation Group is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer with over 12 years of expertise in the design and analysis of large dams and associated structures. A comprehensive understanding of related engineering disciplines, including dam safety evaluations, is essential. Experience with site assignments for hydroelectric projects, both domestically and internationally, is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Overseeing and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams of engineers, designers, and drafters throughout the phases of conceptual, preliminary, and final design.
  • Serving as a technical expert within project teams.
  • Delivering regular progress updates to clients and senior management.
  • Conducting site visits to gather necessary information to support design efforts.
  • Engaging with clients professionally and effectively.
  • Adhering to established quality management systems and recommending improvements as needed.
  • Willingness to travel both nationally and internationally.

Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in hydrotechnical or civil engineering and be registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in BC, along with extensive experience in the field.

Qualifications:
  • In-depth technical knowledge and design proficiency in civil engineering.
  • Experience with large conventional hydro and pumped storage systems (50−100 MW).
  • Ability to collaborate with various disciplines and comprehend electrical, civil-structural, and mechanical design elements.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a proven track record of effective teamwork with professionals and clients.
  • Demonstrated project and client management capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with a strong aptitude for report writing.
  • Significant site experience.
  • Experience in conducting dam safety assessments and inspections.
  • Business development skills, including proposal writing and leadership.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Capability to manage projects exceeding $1 million.
  • Flexibility to work from the Vancouver or Toronto office, with options for remote work as per company policy.

The compensation for this role ranges from $120,000 to $165,000 annually, based on relevant experience, education, and skill level.
