Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Concrete Finishing Specialist to join our team at Tony Battista Paving Inc.. This role involves working with various concrete materials and applying finishing techniques to ensure high-quality surfaces.

Qualifications
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Experience: 2 to less than 3 years in concrete finishing.
Work Environment

The work site is characterized by:

  • Potentially dangerous situations
  • Hot and noisy surroundings
  • Outdoor settings
  • Wet or damp conditions
Key Responsibilities

As a Concrete Finishing Specialist, your tasks will include:

  • Filling hollows and removing imperfections on freshly poured concrete.
  • Operating power vibrators to compact concrete effectively.
  • Leveling the top surface of concrete according to specified grades and depths.
  • Working at heights using scaffolding or swing stages.
  • Applying desired finishes to concrete surfaces using both hand and power tools.
  • Installing anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills, and other fixtures.
  • Applying hardening and sealing agents to cure surfaces.
  • Waterproofing, damp-proofing, and restoring surfaces as needed.
  • Repairing, resurfacing, and replacing worn or damaged sections of concrete structures.

  • Colors and sealers
  • Hardners and epoxies
  • Lightweight concrete
  • Mastic flooring
  • Reinforcing membranes and protective coverings
Physical Requirements

This position is physically demanding and requires:

  • Handling heavy loads
  • Bending, crouching, and kneeling
  • Attention to detail
  • Sound discrimination
  • Standing for extended periods
Tools and Equipment

Applicants should possess their own tools and safety equipment, including:

  • Tools for concrete finishing
  • Safety gear

  • Hard hats
  • Safety glasses or goggles
  • Ear plugs
  • Gloves
Work Schedule

This is a permanent position with a work schedule of 30 to 44 hours per week. The primary language of work is English.
