Key Responsibilities- Food Cost Control: Maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory to ensure optimal profitability.
- Culinary Leadership: Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to our cooking staff, promoting a culture of innovation and excellence.
- Team Supervision: Supervise the activities of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks, and other kitchen workers, providing guidance and support to ensure seamless kitchen operations.
- Culinary Training: Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food, ensuring consistency and quality across all dishes.
- Menu Development: Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets, showcasing our culinary expertise.
- Food Safety: Prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions, adhering to the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.
- Supply Chain Management: Requisition food and kitchen supplies, ensuring timely delivery and optimal quality.
- Customer Service: Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances, providing exceptional service and ensuring their safety.
- Staff Management: Recruit and hire staff, training them in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Language: Fluency in English.
- Work Schedule: 30 to 40 hours per week.
