Overview: Our client, a prominent player in the valve manufacturing sector, is seeking a bilingual Account Manager based in Montreal. This role is pivotal in expanding the customer base, addressing requests for quotations (RFQs), and driving revenue growth. The primary industries served include Oil & Gas, Mining, Energy, and Water Treatment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement the existing sales strategy while providing technical support and enhancing visibility within the customer network, primarily consisting of distributors, resellers, and end users.
  • Manage and nurture current accounts while actively seeking new business opportunities and partnerships to foster growth.
  • Evaluate and oversee existing distributors and partners, while identifying and cultivating new service centers and collaborations, including auditing, training, and contract negotiations.
  • Develop and strengthen customer relationships by thoroughly understanding their requirements.
  • Plan and participate in industry trade shows, conferences, and events to promote products and connect with potential clients and partners.

Territory: Eastern Canada (Montreal-based)

Work Environment: Hybrid (Montreal location with in-office training)

Compensation:

  • Base Salary: $100,000 - $120,000
  • Commissions/Bonus: $15,000 at plan plus uncapped commissions
  • Car Allowance: $500/month
  • Expense Reimbursement: All reasonable expenses covered

Qualifications:

  • Business Development Focus: 30% new business, 30% existing customers, 30% RFQs, 10% marketing/admin

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field
  • Training: On-the-job training for up to 3 months
  • Travel Requirements: Up to 1 week of overnight travel per month
  • Experience: 3-5 years in relevant business development roles

Additional Requirements:

  • Experience in the valve industry is essential
  • Technical Knowledge: A solid understanding of technical aspects is required
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication in both English and French is necessary for handling RFQs
