Position Overview:

Interim Ketso Yoh Housing Coordinator

Full-Time Position

This full-time interim role seeks an individual with comprehensive knowledge of the health and social factors affecting residents who may be facing homelessness or are at risk of homelessness, as well as those dealing with mental health and addiction issues. The position is responsible for overseeing the Ketso Yoh program, which supports up to 80 men in the community. The Interim Ketso Yoh Housing Coordinator will ensure the delivery of high-quality, resident-centered programs across a spectrum of community services and will collaborate with local community resources and other service providers.


The Interim Ketso Yoh Housing Coordinator will also contribute insights and feedback to the director regarding the development and execution of standards and operational procedures that align with professional benchmarks and evidence-based practices. This program is tailored to meet the unique needs of each resident, beginning from their current personal and cultural journey. The role requires participation in the on-call crisis response system.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the planning, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of practices to ensure quality outcomes for residents.
  • Oversee and mentor support staff, ensuring compliance with professional standards, protocols, and regulations.
  • Provide supervision, support, and guidance to staff, promoting their professional development while maintaining high standards of resident care.
  • Deliver administrative support, leadership, and problem-solving at the service delivery level for the multidisciplinary Complex Care Housing team.
  • Direct resident care as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) or a 2-year diploma combined with 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Willingness and capability to assist residents in identifying, developing, and enhancing their cultural identity and personal life plans.
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities in a cultural context.
  • Required certifications include First Aid, Class 4 Driver's License, Crisis Prevention Intervention, Suicide Intervention, and Food Safe; candidates willing to obtain these after hire will be considered.
  • Ability to pass a criminal record check.
  • Compensation ranges from $35 to $40 per hour, based on qualifications and experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package and RRSP contributions.
