We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data-Centric Video Quality Engineer to join our Operational Excellence team at Warner Bros. Discovery. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving continuous improvement in the video quality of experience (QoE) for our streaming platforms.
Key Responsibilities- Lead Video QoE Reliability Engineering: Improve root cause analysis, instrumentation, and reporting of QoE metrics in collaboration with player and backend service teams.
- Champion Data-Driven Decisions: Use data to inform decisions on how to improve and evolve video streaming performance for our customers, with a strong sense of ownership for the WBD Streaming Technology platforms.
- Design and Implement Data Models: Develop complex, high-quality data models to produce ongoing operational reporting, program reporting, and executive-level dashboards.
- Deep Data Analysis: Identify trends and patterns in complex data sets using statistical techniques and build reports and dashboards tailored to the needs of engineering teams and senior leadership.
- Video Quality Data Governance: Ensure data accuracy by inspecting, cleansing, and performing quality checks.
- Complex Software Roadmaps: Ideate, innovate, and create roadmaps that will impact the entire streaming industry.
- Technical Communication: Describe highly technical concepts to non-technical audiences in a clear and concise manner.
- Ad Hoc Analyses: Perform ad hoc analyses and data extraction requests as needed.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Experience: 12+ years of relevant experience, with 7+ years in Data Science and Analytics, preferably in the Video Streaming technology space.
- Skills: Proficient in analytics engines and monitoring tools, complex SQL, statistical inference, and reporting/visualization tools.
- Personal Qualities: Critical thinking, problem-solving, leadership, and collaboration skills, with high EQ and professional maturity.
