Senior Staff Analytics Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Staff Analytics Developer to join our Operational Excellence team at Warner Bros. Discovery. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving continuous improvement across our video streaming platforms, ensuring smooth and efficient operation, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the Video QoE Reliability Engineering team to improve root cause analysis, instrumentation, and reporting of Video Quality of Experience (QoE) metrics.
- Develop and implement complex data models to produce ongoing operational reporting, program reporting, and executive-level dashboards.
- Design and deliver high-quality data-driven solutions to improve video streaming performance, using statistical techniques and data analysis.
- Collaborate with multiple departments, including site reliability engineers, QoE Analysts, core media engineering, and customer experience teams to deliver streaming video that exceeds customer expectations.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of video streaming technologies, including media player technologies, encoding schemes, and streaming protocols.
- Conduct industry benchmarking, create internal SLA targets, and support recommendations to influence business decisions and drive alignment across multiple departments.
- Ensure video quality data governance and data accuracy by inspecting, cleansing, and performing quality checks.
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of data visualization tools, such as Looker, Power BI, or Tableau, and use them to create actionable insights and reports.
- BS degree in Computer Science or a related field with 12+ years of relevant experience.
- 7+ years of experience in the areas of Data Science and Analytics, preferably in the Video Streaming technology space.
- Experience with analytics engines and monitoring tools, such as Prometheus, OpenSearch, and query languages like SQL and PromQL.
- Proficient with complex SQL and creation of database objects, such as tables, views, and materialized views.
- Solid understanding of statistical inference and applying statistical rigor to analyses.
- Expertise in one or more reporting/visualization tools, such as Looker, Power BI, or Tableau.
- Ability to think critically and analyze data trends for operational risks and efficiencies.
- Excellent organizational and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- High EQ and professional maturity, with demonstrated ability to engage at an executive level.
- Experience collaborating in hybrid remote/in-office teams across multiple regions and time zones.
