Job Title: Healthcare Support Worker

Job Summary:

Churchill Health Centre is seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Support Worker to join our team. As a Healthcare Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients and residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist patients and residents with everyday activities under the supervision of the Manager of Patient Care.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and residents.
  • Assist with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Help with mealtime and feeding patients and residents.
  • Assist with mobility and transfers.
  • Participate in activities and programs designed to promote patient and resident well-being.

Requirements:

  • Previous Healthcare Support Worker experience an asset.
  • Successful completion of a Healthcare Support Worker training program.
  • Current CPR Certification required and updated annually.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read/write Cree or Dene an asset.

Physical Demands:

  • Possible heavy lifting at times.
  • Possible posture and muscle problems.
  • Possible contact with clients with aggressive behavior.
  • Other demands as it pertains to position.

Working Conditions:

Work is performed in a fast-paced healthcare environment with frequent interruptions. Must be able to work in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
