Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Production Operator to join our team at Shercom Industries Inc. as a Rubber Materials Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and tending to machinery used for mixing, calendering, extruding, moulding, and curing rubber materials or rubber products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and Maintain Machinery: Set up, operate, and tend to machinery used for mixing, calendering, extruding, moulding, and curing rubber materials or rubber products.
  • Quality Control: Check and monitor product quality to ensure conformance to specifications and quality standards.
  • Training and Development: Train or assist in the training of other workers to ensure a high level of skill and knowledge within the team.
  • Product Assembly and Inspection: Operate machines or equipment to cut, shape, splice, fit, and cement rubber materials to form rubber parts or finished rubber products, and inspect finished products for defects.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Make minor adjustments or repairs to products and adjust machinery and equipment to proper settings.
  • Materials Handling: Load or feed rubber, pigments, filler, oil, and chemicals into machines.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform preventive maintenance to ensure the smooth operation of machinery and equipment.
  • Record-Keeping: Maintain an internal record-keeping system to track production and quality metrics.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required for this role.
  • Experience: 5 years or more of experience in a related field is preferred.
  • Physical Demands: This role requires standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, kneeling, and manual dexterity.
  • Work Environment: This is a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks and physically demanding work.
  • Language: English is the primary language used in this role.
  • Work Hours: 40 hours per week.
