Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our team at Sheldon M Chumir Health Centre. As a Medical Laboratory Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality laboratory services to our clients. Your primary responsibilities will include specimen handling, testing, and reporting results, as well as performing various laboratory functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Procure, handle, process, dispatch, and test specimens in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Perform laboratory procedures and report results accurately and timely.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients and colleagues.
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure smooth laboratory operations.
  • Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities.
Requirements:
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
  • Competency in phlebotomy and ECG certification.
  • Proficiency in data entry and keyboarding skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • PSC Community or Mobile outpatient experience within the past six months.
  • Three months of phlebotomy experience with adult and pediatric patients within the past two years.
  • Training and experience in Epic Connect Care with CP Lab Assistant with Result Entry.
