Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our team at Sheldon M Chumir Health Centre. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality service to clients in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Procure, handle, process, dispatch, and test specimens in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Perform various laboratory procedures and report results in accordance with established protocols.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory operations.
Requirements:
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
  • Competency in phlebotomy and ECG certification.
  • Proficiency in data entry and keyboarding skills.
  • Preferred qualifications include PSC Community or Mobile outpatient experience, phlebotomy experience with adult and pediatric patients, and training in Epic Connect Care with CP Lab Assistant with Result Entry.
