Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Technologist I to join our team at Foothills Medical Centre. As a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) I, you will be responsible for the daily processing, testing, results analysis and reporting of diagnostic samples within the laboratory department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform a variety of routine and specialized procedures in the processing of specimens used in diagnosis, treatment and research.
  • Conduct quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure efficient and effective laboratory operations.
  • Develop and implement procedures to improve laboratory efficiency and productivity.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with new technologies and techniques.
Requirements:
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program.
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1 year recent experience working in a large microbiology laboratory.
Working Conditions:

This is a full-time temporary position with a regular schedule. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment and may be required to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
