Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Assistant I to join our team at Sheldon M Chumir Health Centre. As a key member of our clinical laboratory team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality support to our clients and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Procure, handle, process, dispatch, and test specimens in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Perform various laboratory procedures and report results accurately.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Maintain accurate records and data entry.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory services.
Requirements:
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
  • Competency in phlebotomy and ECG certification.
  • Proficiency in data entry and keyboarding skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • PSC Community or Mobile outpatient experience within the past six months.
  • Three months of phlebotomy experience with adult and pediatric patients within the past two years.
  • Training and experience in Epic Connect Care with CP Lab Assistant with Result Entry.
