Position Overview

Reporting directly to the Executive Vice President of Finance, the Tax Manager plays a crucial role in formulating and upholding tax strategies, compliance protocols, and risk assessment frameworks to ensure optimal tax governance.

  • Overseeing the preparation and submission of various tax returns, including corporate income tax and GST.
  • Collaborating with finance and accounting departments to ensure accurate implementation of tax policies and strategies.
  • Identifying and monitoring potential financial risks, coordinating with accounting teams to devise effective solutions.
  • Working alongside external tax advisors to prepare quarterly and year-end income tax provisions, including deferred tax calculations and corporate reporting.
  • Assisting the Vice President and Executive Vice President of Finance with special projects, including the review of tax implications for potential acquisitions.
  • Supporting the Vice President of Finance in reviewing income tax provisions and ensuring compliance with tax accounting standards.
  • Managing all tax-related audits or inquiries from governmental agencies in collaboration with the Vice President of Finance.
  • Facilitating the integration of newly merged or acquired entities to ensure accurate tax reporting and consolidation.
  • Occasional travel to various sites may be required.
Qualifications
  • A proactive individual with 4 to 6 years of core consulting experience in Corporate Tax, including 2 to 4 years in a managerial role within a large professional services environment.
  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, an active CPA license, and a minimum of 5 years of experience in the manufacturing sector with a focus on consulting and income tax compliance.
  • Experience in tax planning, research, and mergers and acquisitions is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with SAP is a plus.
  • Bilingual proficiency in French and English is essential for effective communication with teams outside Quebec and international colleagues.
