Senior Financial Accountant

In this role, you will play a crucial part in:
- Executing specialized accounting tasks essential for maintaining the integrity of the department's general ledger. This includes conducting in-depth financial analyses of the department's accounts and financial statements to identify and assess any unusual variances.
- Timely recording and reporting of accounting transactions.
- Preparing general ledger entries and performing account reconciliations.
- Compiling balance sheets, profit and loss statements, consolidated financial reports, and other essential accounting schedules.
- Addressing inquiries from management, auditors, and other stakeholders regarding financial outcomes and special reporting requests.
- Regularly reviewing and enhancing internal controls, as well as developing new controls as needed.
- Evaluating current procedures and suggesting improvements to implement best practice accounting methods.
- Safeguarding the organization's value by maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
Required Skills
- Technical Accounting Assessment - Investigating and evaluating transactions to ensure compliance with accounting regulations and company policies.
- Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles - Assessing accounting standards to ensure transactions are recorded in alignment with requirements and company policies.
- Financial Regulations Acumen - Understanding applicable regulations in areas such as tax and local accounting to ensure compliance.
- Financial Reporting - Analyzing financial data to support business decisions and preparing reports that comply with regulations.
- Financial Internal Controls - Utilizing an internal control framework to assess and improve financial reporting processes.
- Financial Analysis - Interpreting financial data to provide insights that drive business improvements.
- Accountability - Holding oneself and others responsible for meeting commitments.
- Effective Communication - Delivering clear communications tailored to the needs of various audiences.

Education and Experience
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or CA are preferred.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant professional experience is required.
- Proficiency in both French and English is essential.
- Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel are necessary, with experience in Power BI considered an asset.
Compensation and Benefits
