Senior Tax Strategist

Reporting directly to the Executive Vice President of Finance, the Tax Manager plays a crucial role in formulating and executing tax strategies, compliance protocols, and risk assessment frameworks to ensure optimal tax governance.

• Overseeing the preparation and submission of various tax returns, including corporate income tax and GST.
• Collaborating with finance and accounting departments to ensure precise implementation of tax policies and strategies.
• Identifying and monitoring potential financial risks, working closely with accounting teams to devise effective solutions.
• Coordinating with external tax consultants to prepare quarterly and year-end income tax provisions, including deferred tax calculations and corporate reporting.
• Supporting the V.P. Finance and E.V.P. Finance in special projects, including due diligence reviews for potential acquisitions and assessing tax implications.
• Assisting in the review of income tax provisions and ensuring adherence to tax accounting standards.
• Managing all tax-related audits or inquiries from governmental bodies in collaboration with the V.P. Finance.
• Facilitating the integration of newly merged or acquired entities to ensure accurate tax reporting and consolidation.
• Occasional travel to various sites may be required.

• A proactive individual with 4 to 6 years of core consulting experience in Corporate Tax, including 2 to 4 years in a managerial role within a large professional services environment.
• A bachelor's degree in accounting, an active CPA license, and a minimum of 5 years of experience in the manufacturing sector with a strong focus on tax compliance.
• Experience in tax planning, research, and mergers and acquisitions is advantageous.
• Familiarity with SAP software is a plus.
• Bilingual proficiency in French and English is essential for effective communication with teams outside Quebec and international colleagues.
