Position Type: Full-Time
Manitoba Hydro is seeking a skilled Project Planner & Scheduler to join its Project Services Department. As a key member of the planning and scheduling team, you will work closely with project teams to develop, monitor, and analyze comprehensive project schedules for capital and maintenance investments.
Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain resource-loaded schedules using Primavera scheduling tool to facilitate resource-specific job planning commitments.
- Initiate discussions with project managers and teams to proactively manage project issues, assess deviations to project schedules and budget, and provide recommendations on how to address their impact.
- Lead the development of project baselines for progress measurement and earned value analysis, collaborating with project managers and the project services team.
- Contribute to the development of scheduling standards for the division and generate processes, tools, and reports to analyze actual and forecast labor requirements.
- Provide subject matter expertise in project scheduling, including scheduling process implementation, progress measurement, project performance tracking, and integration with Earned Value Management system.
- Develop and maintain historical project information for future project schedule and resource forecasting.
- Graduate in Engineering (any discipline) from a recognized university with a minimum of four years' experience, including one year of direct project delivery experience.
- Membership in Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba.
- Working knowledge of Project Management principles.
- Direct experience with Primavera scheduling tool is considered an asset.
- Strong software skills in standard Microsoft applications.
- Ability to plan, organize, and control activities of concurrent work assignments.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to cooperate with Corporation employees, consultants, suppliers, and contractors.
