Physiotherapy Assistant

Job Summary:
This is a therapeutic role in the treatment of individuals affected by physical disabilities due to illness, injury, or disabling conditions. The successful candidate will work under the direction of a Registered Physiotherapist and be responsible for implementing treatment plans, which may involve patient handling. Clinical training and supervision will be provided by regional Physiotherapy staff. Regional travel may be required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement treatment plans under the direction of a Registered Physiotherapist
- Provide therapeutic support to individuals with physical disabilities
- Work collaboratively with regional Physiotherapy staff to ensure high-quality patient care
- Participate in regional travel to provide services as needed
Requirements:
- Graduation from high school with a diploma recognized by the Newfoundland & Labrador Department of Education and Early Childhood Development
- Graduation from a recognized Physiotherapy Rehabilitation Assistant Program approved by Central Health
- Demonstrated body mechanics and lifting techniques
- Consistent demonstration of Central Health's corporate values: Innovation, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence
- A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance
- A satisfactory Certificate of Conduct from the RCMP or local police authority
Working Conditions:
This is a permanent part-time position with 37.5 hours bi-weekly. Shift work may be required. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate a commitment to safety and patient care.
