We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Rehabilitation Assistant to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. As an active member of the patient care team, you will work collaboratively with therapists to deliver interventions that promote movement, occupation, and function. Your responsibilities will include checking and cleaning equipment, maintaining treatment and storage areas, and ordering necessary supplies. The successful applicant may be required to provide services anywhere within the Rehabilitation Services portfolio.
About YouWe are looking for an individual with a strong foundation in rehabilitation principles and practices. You will have completed the Rehabilitation Assistant Program, which includes both Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy components. You will also possess basic cardiac life support certification and excellent communication skills. Additionally, you will have the ability to work collaboratively with team members, manage changing staffing and caseload levels, and demonstrate basic computer skills. Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are an asset. Reliable transportation is also a requirement.
HoursThis is a long assignment part-time position, with 52.5 hours bi-weekly. The expected start date is as soon as possible, with an end date of November 30, 2025. Please note that dates are approximate and may be subject to change.
Compensation and BenefitsThe successful candidate will receive a competitive hourly rate of $22.84 - $25.95. They may also be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
