At Holcim, we are seeking a skilled Finish Roller Operator to enhance our asphalt paving operations. In this role, you will be instrumental in the concluding phases of roadway construction, ensuring the creation of smooth and resilient surfaces. This position allows you to work with advanced machinery and collaborate with a proactive team in the asphalt sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate finish roller equipment to compact asphalt and produce smooth road surfaces.
- Work closely with paving teams to ensure correct alignment and compaction of asphalt layers.
- Perform pre-operation checks on machinery to identify maintenance or repair requirements.
- Modify roller settings to meet desired compaction standards and surface quality.
- Monitor asphalt temperature and moisture to enhance compaction effectiveness.
- Coordinate with other operators and laborers to ensure timely completion of paving projects.
- Follow all safety guidelines and regulations to maintain a secure work environment.
- Keep detailed records of work completed, including daily production logs and maintenance reports.
- Communicate efficiently with supervisors and team members to manage tasks and resolve any challenges.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures to maintain quality standards and foster a positive workplace culture.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience operating finish roller machinery or similar equipment in asphalt paving is preferred.
- Familiarity with asphalt paving methods and industry best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret paving plans and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality work.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, as project demands require.
- Physical capability to perform repetitive tasks and work outdoors.
- Commitment to following company policies, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines consistently.
