About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Finish Roller Operator to join our team at Lafarge Edmonton Construction. As a key member of our paving crew, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and durability of our asphalt roadways.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate finish roller machinery to compact asphalt and achieve smooth road surfaces.
  • Collaborate with paving crews to ensure proper alignment and compaction of asphalt layers.
  • Conduct pre-operation inspections on equipment to identify maintenance or repair needs.
  • Adjust roller settings to achieve desired compaction levels and surface finishes.
  • Monitor asphalt temperature and moisture levels to optimize compaction efficiency.
  • Work in coordination with other equipment operators and laborers to complete paving projects on schedule.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including daily production logs and equipment maintenance reports.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate tasks and address any issues that arise.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience operating finish roller equipment or similar machinery in asphalt paving is preferred.
  • Knowledge of asphalt paving techniques and industry best practices.
  • Ability to interpret paving plans and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, as required by project schedules.
  • Physical ability to perform repetitive tasks and work in outdoor environments.
