Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive communications and marketing strategies focused on the Québec market, ensuring music creators and publishers are recognized for their extraordinary talent.
  • Oversee the creation of engaging content across various channels, including social media, websites, blogs, and newsletters, ensuring alignment with the organization's brand and messaging.
  • Protect and enhance the organization's brand reputation by ensuring consistent messaging and visual identity across all platforms.
  • Manage the annual budget for Québec communications programming.

Public Relations and Outreach:

  • Execute strategic communications campaigns to increase member engagement through relevant materials promoting information and education.
  • Write research-based, data-driven content to enhance SOCAN's reputation as a leading Canadian collective management organization.
  • Utilize storytelling techniques to develop editorial content and media pitches for various publications.
  • Assist in creating key messages, news releases, event speeches, and video scripts to support outreach efforts.
  • Organize promotional plans and materials for in-person and virtual education sessions to support recruitment and retention of music creators.

Brand and Content Development:

  • Create compelling content and communications services for various purposes and channels.
  • Highlight the organization's products, services, and value proposition through high-quality content.

Community Awareness and Monitoring:

  • Develop and execute a proactive communications strategy that anticipates key issues and opportunities.
  • Analyze the effectiveness of communication campaigns using key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics, making recommendations for future improvements.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and competitor activities to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to adapt messaging strategies for different markets.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree or certification in communications, public relations, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in communication, marketing, or public relations roles.
  • Bilingual proficiency in French and English, with French as a first language.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in communications.
  • A passion for music and culture, recognizing its social value.
  • Exceptional communication skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in utilizing various communication channels effectively.
  • A versatile understanding of communication strategies and techniques.
