Position Summary

We are seeking a Systems Analysis Specialist to contribute to our operations.

Key Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Manager, Procedures & Controls, you will undertake the review, analysis, and evaluation of business workflows and user requirements to ascertain system specifications. Your role will involve conducting cost-benefit analyses and feasibility assessments, as well as documenting and validating business needs. You will design and implement systems of varying complexity, develop business solutions, configure applications, and conduct quality assurance testing and training for projects related to systems and operations.

As a Systems Analysis Specialist, you will be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of departmental business systems. You will define system scope and objectives based on user requirements, and design proposals, forms, workflows, business processes, data modeling needs, and system specifications. Your responsibilities will also include analyzing departmental practices, procedures, methods, and controls in relation to computing systems. You will develop test plans, establish guidelines, and review test outcomes prior to system deployment. Additionally, you will serve as the champion for CMMS (MAXIMO), training end users and enhancing its functionality to bolster the department's asset management strategies. You will implement maintenance management strategies and create master schedules for various asset types utilizing CMMS (MAXIMO).

Moreover, you will lead workshops with staff to gather and document business requirements, develop business and data process flows, and formulate strategies. You will assess weaknesses in systems and practices, implementing improvements as necessary. You will evaluate the impact of potential changes and prepare cost-benefit analyses for proposed modifications. As a Systems Analysis Specialist, you will prepare and present key performance indicators (KPIs), progress reports, agendas, and summaries. You will maintain data integrity across all databases related to your work and coordinate data collection and entry, running database audit reports as needed. You will also act as the ITS representative for the department.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proficient in office technology, software, and applications.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
  • Ability to plan and organize projects to meet departmental and organizational objectives.
  • Project management experience.
  • Specialized expertise in the assigned field.

Educational Background

  • Completion of a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related field, or a combination of education, training, and experience deemed equivalent.
  • Several years of directly related work experience.
  • Proven experience in implementing asset management strategies; familiarity with RCM and PMO is advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of information systems and computer technology concepts, principles, and practices, particularly in a business context (CMMS, MAXIMO, SharePoint, Document Management System).
  • Experience in scheduling maintenance activities through Maximo.
  • Comprehensive understanding of systems analysis and database design concepts.
  • Good grasp of project management principles.
  • Knowledge of end-user support functions and data security/audit principles.
  • Ability to plan, conduct, and coordinate projects related to information systems development and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with various types of equipment used in the department and their maintenance requirements.
  • Willingness to work outside of normal hours as needed to resolve issues and implement systems.
