Business Systems Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Systems Analyst to join our team at Nexus Systems Group Inc. as an IT Business Analyst - Systems Expert. This is a key role that requires a strong understanding of business processes and systems, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with Stakeholders
Work closely with business users, product teams, managers, and other technology teams to understand business requirements, processes, and objectives. Analyze and translate these requirements into actionable plans and functional specifications.
Review and Test PlansReview test plans and strategies to ensure accuracy and sufficient testing coverage of changes being implemented. Identify and address issues, bugs, or discrepancies during testing phases.
Documentation and SupportCreate and maintain documentation, including flow diagrams, user/technical stories, and confluence. Provide guidance, consultation, and support as it pertains to the team's systems.
Process ImprovementIdentify opportunities for business/technical process improvement, streamlining workflows, and enhancing overall operational efficiency to drive productivity and effectiveness.
Data AnalysisAnalyze large amounts of data to extract insights, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations throughout the course of business.
Risk ManagementUnderstand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
Operational EfficiencyActively pursue effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Company's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Requirements- Experience
5+ years' experience as a Business Systems Analyst, preferably from the financial/IT industry.
Technical Skills3+ years' experience in SQL and 3+ years' experience with Java - to review, understand code.
Nice-to-Have SkillsKnowledge of system design, data modeling, and software development life cycle (Agile/Waterfall). Google Cloud knowledge & experience preferred. Experience with Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Visio or equivalent an asset.
Soft SkillsPossesses strong problem-solving and analysis skills followed by good ability to evaluate alternatives and provide recommendations and solutions to complex and multi-dimensional problems. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to build consensus and obtain cooperation from stakeholders, as well as time management and organizational skills to effectively manage deliverables.
EducationUndergraduate degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
