Parish Administrator Job Description

The Parish Administrator plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the parish office. This position requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual who can work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide administrative support to the clergy and other staff members
  • Manage the parish office, including maintaining a welcoming environment and ensuring the office is open during posted hours
  • Handle incoming communication, including phone calls, emails, and postal mail
  • Assist with typing, photocopying, mailing, and other administrative tasks
  • Train volunteers in the use of office equipment and procedures
  • Prepare materials for Sunday services and special events
  • Maintain the parish directory, email list, and spreadsheets
  • Assist with financial record-keeping and produce required reports
  • Interact with renters and ensure lease agreements are completed
  • Inform the building manager and custodian of events and parish activities
Requirements:
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of Anglican Liturgy and church copyright licensing (an asset)
  • Computer expertise with Microsoft Office and general accounting software
  • General property management expertise
Terms of Employment:

~ hours per week

~ Financial compensation depending on experience

~ Two weeks paid vacation increasing over years of service
