The Fleet Services Division is looking for a Stockroom Supervisor to oversee our inventory management operations. This role is essential in ensuring that the equipment necessary for the maintenance and development of our extensive road and bridge network is always operational.

As a Stockroom Supervisor, you will play a critical role in the smooth functioning of our fleet services. Your proactive approach will help prevent equipment failures that could disrupt essential services.

About Our Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager of Fleet Services, the Stockroom Supervisor will lead the inventory procurement and management for the Central Mechanical Branch. This includes supervising staff, providing technical guidance, and collaborating with the Provincial Inventory Coordinator to ensure effective stock control and procurement processes.

Primary Responsibilities

The Stockroom Supervisor will:

  • Manage a team of approximately 10 staff members, setting performance targets and fostering a diverse and healthy work environment.
  • Work with the Provincial Inventory Coordinator to establish realistic goals for stockroom operations and ensure compliance with procurement policies.
  • Utilize the Materials Resource Planning module to assess inventory needs and initiate orders to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Conduct provincial surveys related to the procurement of materials.
  • Collaborate with fleet personnel to define specifications for stock parts and liaise with procurement agencies regarding contracts.
  • Enhance stockroom efficiency by evaluating inventory levels and optimizing stock management practices.
Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A high school diploma and relevant post-secondary training, complemented by at least 7 years of related experience.
  • Experience in managing computerized inventory systems, particularly in a mechanical repair context.
  • Proficiency in SAP Inventory Management, including Goods Movement and Material Requirements Planning.
  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and government purchasing principles.
