We are seeking a highly skilled Transit Planning Specialist to join our team at the City of Ottawa. As a key member of our Transit Services Department, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our transit system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate transit business and operating strategies to inform service planning and development
  • Participate in the long-term planning of the transit system, including the development of policies and long-range plans
  • Prepare and present service information to key stakeholders, including senior management, other Transit staff, and external partners
  • Conduct research and analysis to inform transit planning and development decisions
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure that urban planning and development proposals are compatible with transit objectives
Requirements
  • Completion of a 4-year university degree in geography, urban planning, engineering, operations research, economics, business administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in transit planning or a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and analyze complex data
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and customer service
