Job Title: Construction Estimator

Ontario Inc. is seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team. As a Construction Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing estimates of labour and/or material costs for construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare detailed estimates of labour and material costs for construction projects
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements
  • Operate CADD and other computer software systems to prepare estimates
  • Prepare estimates for general expenses and overheads
  • Provide economic feasibility studies and preliminary estimates for proposed projects
  • Project cash flow and financing requirements
  • Create and submit estimate reports, quote sheets, and bid forms
  • Advise on tendering procedures and analyze tenders to recommend awards
  • Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems
  • Liaise with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in construction estimating
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Flexibility and ability to work in a team environment
  • Organized and proactive approach to work
Work Environment:

As a Construction Estimator with Ontario Inc., you will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You will be required to work independently and as part of a team to meet project deadlines.
