Position Overview

The Culinary Operations Supervisor plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth functioning of food service operations at Jon Smith Subs. This position requires a blend of leadership, organization, and culinary knowledge to maintain high standards of food quality and service.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of a college, CEGEP, or equivalent program lasting 1 to 2 years.
  • Experience: A minimum of 1 month to less than 7 months in a similar role or relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to meet operational schedules.
  • Oversee and coordinate the activities of staff responsible for food preparation and portioning.
  • Assess and estimate the necessary ingredients and supplies for meal preparation.
  • Recruit and hire food service personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with quality control standards for food and service.
  • Prepare financial budgets and cost projections.
  • Address and resolve customer complaints and concerns.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of inventory, repairs, sales, and waste.
  • Compile and submit operational reports.
  • Prepare food order summaries for the culinary team.
  • Possess knowledge of the establishment's culinary offerings.
  • Supervise the assembly of meal trays.
  • Oversee the delivery of food service carts.
  • Establish and manage work schedules for staff.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Supervise a team of 3-10 staff members.
Work Conditions
  • Fast-paced environment requiring the ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Combination of sitting, standing, and walking throughout the shift.
