Position Overview
  • The Clinical Facility Operations Manager is accountable for the safe and effective delivery of clinical health services and facility management for a designated area within the region in the absence of health services leadership.
  • Reporting to the Executive Director, this role will actively engage in providing guidance to the team to meet the operational goals of the service delivery organization (SDO), focusing on Financial Sustainability, Patient Flow, Patient Experience, Quality/Safety, and Staff Engagement. Responsibilities include:
    • Ensuring effective communication channels between onsite personnel, scheduling, and management
    • Reassigning staff or coordinating with units/departments to provide care for patients and their families.
    • Facilitating interdisciplinary, collaborative relationships to uphold a high standard of patient care through compassionate and respectful service
    • Making staffing decisions based on absenteeism and necessary short-term scheduling adjustments to maintain safe clinical operations, including collaboration with staffing agencies
    • Supporting the implementation of change initiatives
    • Managing emergency situations and ensuring staff well-being and communication protocols based on established guidelines
    • Planning, coordinating, and supervising the work of external contractors as needed

NOTE: This position requires onsite presence. Hours will include a mix of evenings and weekends, with opportunities for daytime shifts to provide relief.

Experience
  • 3 - 5 years of leadership experience in a patient/resident/client care environment.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • A post-secondary degree in a relevant health discipline from an accredited institution is required.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Active membership in good standing with an appropriate regulatory body.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, adhering to the LEADS in a Caring Environment framework adopted by the provincial health system.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work safely in a typical office environment with frequent meetings, and to lift and carry items up to approximately 10 kg (25 pounds).
  • Must prioritize dedicated time for planning and focused work.
  • Travel to other healthcare facilities within the SDO may be necessary. A valid Class 5 Manitoba driver's license and access to a personal vehicle is required.
