Position Overview

As a Technical Support Specialist located in our Vancouver office, you will be instrumental in providing support to users of our fleet management and mine production software, Micromine Pitram. Your role will be pivotal in fostering customer relationships and ensuring their ongoing satisfaction.

Reporting to the Head of the Micromine Pitram Business Unit, your primary responsibilities will encompass:

  • Delivering support via telephone, email, and in-person for software license holders.
  • Facilitating training sessions for clients and internal staff, both online and face-to-face.
  • Assisting with the implementation of Micromine Pitram across various regions, including global support as needed.
  • Identifying and addressing enhancement requests, bugs, and development challenges.
  • Conducting BETA testing for new software versions and features to ensure functionality improvements.
  • Collaborating with the Sales team during technical presentations, trade shows, and related events.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience in help desk, technical support, or training roles.

Essential skills, experience, and qualifications include:

  • A degree in Information Technology, Mechatronics, Mining Engineering, Geology, or a similar field
  • Proficiency in networking and database technologies (e.g., SQL and Oracle)
  • Experience in conducting training for clients
  • Strong skills in building and maintaining customer relationships
  • Willingness to travel domestically or internationally for software implementations (approximately 20-25% of the year)
  • Previous experience in the mining sector is preferred but not mandatory
  • Must reside in Greater Vancouver; remote candidates will not be considered
