About Our Opportunity

The Government of Nova Scotia is seeking a skilled and compassionate Victim Services Navigator to join our team. As a key member of our department, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional support services to victims of crime.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide information and support services directly to victims of crime, ensuring their rights and needs are met.
  • Act as a liaison between victims and justice personnel, facilitating communication and coordination.
  • Develop and implement strategies to meet the needs of victims, including court preparation sessions and accompaniment.
  • Maintain accurate records and confidentiality of client information.
  • Liaise with Crown, Police, Correctional Services, and community organizations to enhance services and support.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as Social Sciences.
  • Three years of related experience, including client services and case management.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of the criminal justice system, community resources, and victim-related legislation.
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment, maintain confidentiality, and handle sensitive information.
