Crisis Intervention Specialist

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled Crisis Intervener to join our team. As a Crisis Intervener, you will be responsible for delivering crisis support services to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis, as well as community organizations and families/friends who are supporting them.
Key Responsibilities- Provide crisis support services, including triage, clinical assessment, and intervention strategies
- Develop and implement crisis prevention and intervention plans
- Collaborate with community organizations and support persons to provide education, liaison, and advocacy services
- Work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team to achieve evidence-based outcomes
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional with a strong background in mental health and crisis intervention. The ideal candidate will have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field, with up-to-date licensure and registration in Nova Scotia
- At least two years of experience in crisis intervention, with a strong knowledge of mental health issues and crisis intervention strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations
- A strong understanding of community resources and government legislation related to mental health services
This is a permanent full-time position, with a 75-hour bi-weekly schedule. The successful candidate will be eligible for our benefits package, including health, dental, travel, and long-term disability insurance, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
The hourly rate for this position is $33.97-$42.89, with a developmental rate of $32.32-$39.23 for candidates with less than two years of experience.
