Mental Health Worker 2 Position

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Mental Health Worker 2 to join our team at Chapman House in Sechelt, BC. As a Mental Health Worker 2, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team in a long-term care setting with individuals with severe and persistent psychiatric illness living in a licensed group home.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in case planning with clients, interview clients to identify problems and needs, and work with clients to determine appropriate care.
- Act as an advocate to assist clients in resolving conflicts and other problems with external organizations.
- Implement care plans, observe residents' behavior and symptoms, provide feedback regarding residents' needs, performance, and progress.
- Provide supportive counseling, demonstrations, behavioral management to assist with the development of physical, social, emotional, and life skills.
- Diploma in Community Social Service.
- Two (2) years recent, related experience working with individuals with severe and persistent psychiatric illness or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Valid BC Drivers License. Local area travel may require the use of a personal vehicle.
- Valid CPR and First Aid certificates.
