Position Overview

The Payroll Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring the precise and timely execution of bi-weekly payroll for approximately 5,200 employees within the healthcare sector. Utilizing Meditech and API eScheduling systems, this position is essential for maintaining compliance and accuracy in payroll processing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Payroll Processing: Ensure accurate processing of bi-weekly payroll for both unionized and non-unionized staff, adhering to established policies and collective agreements.
  • Expense Management: Review and process employee expense reimbursement claims in accordance with organizational policies.
  • Adjustment Review: Evaluate and process payroll adjustment forms on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Reporting: Prepare comprehensive audit reports for payroll, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
  • Government Remittances: Reconcile and remit monthly government remittances as required.
  • Documentation: Process necessary employment and government forms, including Stats Canada reports and WSIB claims.
  • Internal Support: Serve as a resource for internal departments regarding payroll inquiries.
  • Workflow Development: Engage in the development and testing of cross-functional workflows.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and recommend enhancements to payroll processes.
  • Training: Provide training on payroll systems and processes to organizational staff.
  • Administrative Duties: Perform various administrative tasks, including filing and data entry.
Qualifications

  • Education: A diploma or university degree is required; PCP designation is preferred.
  • Experience: Proven success in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment is essential.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with large ERP systems and intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to remain solution-oriented in challenging situations.
  • Independence: Capable of working autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to sit, stand, and occasionally lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Attendance: A satisfactory employment and attendance record is required.
Additional Information

This is a temporary full-time position with a duration of approximately 6 months, requiring availability for Monday to Friday day shifts. The salary range for this role is between $31.750 and $39.730 per hour.
