Job Summary

Olympia Benefits Inc. is seeking a skilled Database Developer to enhance and maintain our custom financial systems using Oracle PL/SQL and Delphi, while contributing to MSSQL Server database design and development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain in-house custom-built financial systems using Oracle PL/SQL and Delphi.
  • Contribute to the design and development of MSSQL Server databases.
  • Translate business requirements into functional software product solutions.
  • Decipher database logic into application logic.
  • Participate in agile development practices with iterative planning, user story creation, and implementation.
  • Adhere to the enterprise architecture roadmap with software development practices.
  • Design and develop reports and internal tools for business needs.
  • Perform various assigned tasks as requested by management and executives.

Requirements

  • College or University Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or comparable experience with a minimum of 5 years of experience required.
  • Good understanding of database development and administration fundamentals.
  • Strong MSSQL and Oracle PL/SQL skills, and/or equivalent database experience.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with MySQL.
  • Experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with backup and restoring databases.
  • Experience with React Native / ReactJS.
  • Experience with Python scripting.
  • Experience with event-driven architecture and message queues.
  • Experience with third-party tools such as DevExpress, DevArt, and ReportBuilder.
  • Experience with Git version control system.
  • Financial applications experience is an asset.
  • Database migration experience is an asset.
