About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Professional to join our team at The Good Samaritan Society. As a key member of our dining services team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals to our residents and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meal Preparation: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods, ensuring that all meals meet our high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Food Safety and Quality Control: Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure that all food is handled, stored, and served safely and in accordance with our policies and procedures.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise kitchen staff and helpers, providing guidance and support to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment, ensuring that we have the necessary resources to meet our culinary needs.
  • Cleanliness and Maintenance: Clean kitchen and work areas, ensuring that all areas are clean and safe for staff and residents.
  • Operational Management: Manage kitchen operations, including planning, organizing, and coordinating all aspects of food service.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 35 hours per week.
