Job Description: Marine Operations Technician

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Marine Operations Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our tugboats and vessels.

Responsibilities
  • Participate actively in maneuvering operations on tugboats.
  • Ensure the smooth berthing and departure of tugboats using cables and other equipment.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and functionality of accommodations and bridge areas.
  • Safely position gangways and facilitate personnel transfers between vessels and shore.
  • Connect ground power systems, including plugs and circuit breakers.
  • Perform routine cleaning, painting, and other maintenance tasks related to vessel facilities.
  • Assist the Chief Engineer with various technical duties.
  • Actively contribute to the implementation and adherence of our Health, Safety, and Environment Management System.
Qualifications
  • Possess relevant certificates of proficiency, including Basic Safety DVSLifeboat and rescue boat operating skills (an asset).
  • Hold a valid medical certificate issued by Transport Canada.
  • Restricted Radio Operator Certificate (RRO-M) is an asset.
  • Bridge Watchman Certificate of Competency is an asset.
  • Basic Marine First Aid Certificate is an asset.
  • Valid driver's license (class 5).
  • Demonstrate strong autonomy and self-reliance.
