Position Overview

We are currently seeking a full-time Forklift Field Service Technician. This role operates on a first shift schedule, Monday through Friday, and is compensated hourly. Our Field Technicians are provided with a company service vehicle that they can take home, along with a fuel card. The primary duties include:

  • Conducting preventative maintenance on customer forklifts and other material handling equipment
  • Diagnosing and repairing various types of customer equipment
  • Completing repair tasks efficiently and professionally
  • Delivering outstanding customer service
  • Managing workloads independently
  • Accurate completion and submission of all necessary documentation
  • Maintaining responsibility for the company vehicle and onboard parts inventory
  • Incorporating Alta's guiding principles into daily operations
  • Performing additional tasks as assigned
  • Consistent and reliable attendance, ready to work at the designated start time

Professional Development

We encourage our Technicians to engage in our in-house paid training program, which allows them to enhance their skills in diagnosis and troubleshooting, advancing their careers as Technicians. Company uniforms are also provided.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of two years of forklift repair experience is preferred
  • Field experience is highly advantageous
  • Strong knowledge of electric and liquid propane units
  • Excellent mechanical skills
  • Possession of personal tools is required
  • A clean driving record and valid driver's license are necessary for operating the company vehicle
  • Familiarity with computer programs such as Hyster TKC training software and Yale/Hyster contact management system
  • Intermediate language skills: Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals; capable of writing routine reports and communicating effectively
  • Basic mathematical skills: Ability to perform addition and subtraction
  • Intermediate reasoning ability: Capable of applying common sense to follow instructions and solve problems

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, and reach; frequently required to talk and hear; occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • No special vision requirements
  • Regularly lift up to 10 pounds; frequently lift 11 to 25 pounds; occasionally lift over 26 pounds
  • Work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and outdoor weather conditions
